Hi Julie,
Thanks so much for this video, it is perfect timing! I currently do a back and chest workout once a week and was just telling my husband I was going to add the superman on the stability ball. Now I have 2 others exercises I can add as well.
I am a pretransplant patient and want to really focus on strengthening my back, chest and abs, this is going to help.
I look forward to many more videos, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Hugs,
Debbie A. (Fellow USACFA Director)

Thanks for putting this out there Julie. I totally agree and have direct experience of more open posture contributing to healthy lungs/body. I did my own little experience at clinic a few years ago where I asked them to do PFTs on me, then have a myofascial release session where I had a therapist work to open my pecs, my SCM, work on my chest and neck, under my clavicles- basically lengthening my spine, opening my chest, and freeing up my neck. I then asked to be retested and without any drugs at all my FEV1 improved by 12%. 12%! Making sure I have strong, open posture is a huge part of my CF/life care. What a difference?!
I do find that when I'm sicker it's harder to maintain an open posture, but well worth the effort. I have been known to be caught doing stretches and yoga sometimes hanging a limb or my whole upper body off the bed when in the hospital. The nurses or doctors sometimes wonder about my sanity I'm sure- ah, but it's good for them :).
I've really enjoyed reading your blog. I can especially relate to the "rant" one over the past few days. I can also relate to the sick and happy one too- thank goodness.
Thanks again for putting this out there. It's so important.
