It took me awhile to get used to the very focused training. Like you, I used to lift 3 or 4 days a week, picking 2 o 3 muscle groups and just blasting them. This is different. But it does work! Have fun.

Hey Julie, love the site redesign! It looks awesome!

That said, just did day 2 of The New Rules of Lifting for Women as you had suggested. The first day was a real change for me - I'm used to sectioning off my workouts by muscle group and doing 3-4 exercises per group. So, after the first day of the NRLW I was disappointed!

So for day 2 (today), I made sure to add more weight - much better! My legs will be sore tomorrow! Like you, I love this kind of training - it hurts but somehow that's great.

Thanks Julie, for laying out these tips! I've got a small frame with thin bones. At age 30, I'm not having any real issues, but I know that it's super important for me to keep my bones and muscles strong as I get older.

And yes, list posts are great! :-) Eric

I love this article, Julie. I have been slowly building muscle tone as well and I have gone from osteopenic to normal as a result!

I watched a Stanford Education Day DVD that you did a few years back with resistance bands that really got me thinking of taking better care of myself through weights and cardio.

Thanks for the inspiration! Here's to great health!!!
