Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
MBSR is an acronym for ‘Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.’ It is the brain child of Jon Kabat-Zinn and has become the most well-researched mindfulness intervention since its inception in 1979. MBSR is an 8-week specific protocol to used to introduce the basic practices of mindfulness, using both the body in stillness and motion, as well as thoughts and emotions as objects of meditation.
